A. J. Leibling, the famous American journalist, once said, 'Freedom of the press is guaranteed only to those who own one.' These days, the Internet makes it possible for anyone to be a publisher. Whether it's on a blog, Facebook or YouTube, anyone can give their opinion on anything and the potential is there for it to be read or watched by millions. But what about the quality of that information? How do we know whether it's good or bad? With so much information out there, it's important that we keep asking people about their source and not just accepting information at face value.
TonicBlu is a website for answers to questions about life, about the things that shape us and give us meaning. When it comes to the source, the answers found of TonicBlu are grounded on what we believe is the most credible source available, the Bible. Personally, the more I study this book the more I'm amazed about how, even though it is hundreds of years old, it continues to be extremely relevant today.
I remember an English professor I had during my undergraduate studies telling our class that if we were wanting to be serious about studying literature, the first thing we should do was to buy a Bible. He wasn't a Christian, in fact he was quite against Christianity, but he still recognised the significance of the Bible as a text. I think he was right, but he was missing a big part of the picture. I believe that more than a text, the Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It's a letter from the creator to creation. Ultimately, we believe, it's the Bible that provides us with the answers to every situation life can throw at us.
That's where the idea behind TonicBlu comes in. The goal behind this site is to use the Internet, an exciting and constantly evolving medium, to deliver the unchanging truth of the Bible. With a book as significant as the Bible and a man as extraordinary as Jesus Christ, it's expected that lots of people will have lots of questions. We really hope this website will help answer some of those questions.
